Dr. Sabel began her research career as a developmental geneticist, examining genes involved in early embryonic development and then transitioned to science education research. Research in the Sabel Lab focuses on how students learn science and types of tools and instruction that instructors can use to support students as they learn and reach understanding of biological concepts and scientific practices.
